more 'famous instead the work of James McBride who, inspired by tales of the father of a friend who had been part of Buffalo in the valley of the Serchio and thus had known "Foo", and is' inspired by the figure of the Captain to write his novel "Miracle at St. Anna "from which then the director Spike Lee has checked out of the movie. http://xoomer.virgilio.it/laurapog/PIPPO/iltirreno021108.htm
Right from the pages of McBride shows as the author has advanced a hypothesis on the yellow of the death of Commander.
Plenty of room, finally, on Wikipedia we can find the biography "Pippo", as well as English, in German, English, French and Portuguese.
